Two Ends of a Long Line pairs the work of two artists both engaged in a practice of imaging the landscape, responding differently to ideas of hope, promise, devastation, and upheaval. From the atmospheric spaces of the West in Stiff paintings, to the sites of urban infrastructure and decay in Maksimiuk’s textural printmaking, both artists reflect on the idea and physicality of the American landscape, often gritty, charred, and glowing.
